
INSTRUCTIONS
TO INSTALL AND USE WEBCAM AND SKYPE FOR MACINTOSH COMPUTERS

Set-up the Macally Webcam (ICECAM)

1. Open the Webcam packaging and remove the webcam and the CD-Rom.
2. Place the webcam on top of the monitor with the help of the adjustable metal cable (or a convenient setting at about eye level).
3. Plug the other end of the webcamÕs cable to the USB port.
4. Your Mac will automatically recognize the Webcam.
Install SKYPE
1. Go to http://www.skype.com/download/skype/macosx/
2. Click on ![]()
3. Save the Setup file
a. It will take a few minutes to save Skype on your computer.
4. Open your web browserÕs Downloads window and double-click on the blue Skype icon.
a. If a warning dialog opens, click Continue.
5. Drag the Skype icon to your Applications folder

6. Open Skype from your Applications folder
7. Read and accept our End User License Agreement. Click ÒAcceptÓ
8. Next, Create an Account.
a. Type in your name, then create a Skype username (called a Skype Name) and a password.
b. Pick ones you can remember so you can sign in next time.
9. Follow the directions from there and click SIGN IN.
Using SKYPE
There are 2 basic steps to be able to talk with someone on Skype - adding a contact (person) to your list and calling a person (from the list)
Add a contact - to be able to speak or videoconference with the contact.
1. Click ÒContactsÓ (on top) and then click ÒSearch for Skype usersÓ
2. A new search window will open (see image below) where you can search for people by name, or any other information they have listed in their Personal Profile.

3. To add a person to your Contacts, simply select the name from the search results and click the ÒAdd ContactÓ button.

Calling a person
1. Click on the personÕs Skype name. A small menu will open up under the name.
2. Click on the green phone to initiate your call. The person on the other end has to Ôpick upÕ.
3. If you would like to use the camera (required for
RCA), click on the little camera icon
in
the call menu
